1. Hebrew prophet: in the Bible, a Hebrew priest and prophet who lived in the 6th century bc. As the Jews' spiritual leader during the Babylonian captivity, he foretold the creation of a Jewish nation.

2. book of Bible: a book of the Bible that describes the Jews' exile in Babylon in the 6th century bc, traditionally attributed to Ezekiel. It contains prophecies of the destruction and subsequent rebuilding of Jerusalem and Judah.
